The designer, Jois James, inherited a family home near a lake in Sweden in 2013. There, he discovered an antique porcelain object topped with a silver lid. A knowledgeable friend revealed its origin: in the 19th century, the English royal family, fond of eggs, enjoyed them in this...
The container was called an Egg Coddler. Eager to acquire more, Jois James could only find them as antiques at very high prices. A designer and graphic artist, he decided to create his own model, with Scandinavian curves, clean lines, practicality, and machine washability, and launched Aggcoddler. Jois James now lives in the South of France.
This year Jois James meets Léa Tardito, ceramist, at a local pottery market. Jois is impressed by his magnificent creations. Having long wanted to get back to artistic pottery, Jois enrolled in Léa's classes in her studio in Vidauban. They immediately liked each other and together launched this collaboration, the first artisanal collection of AGGCODDLER.
