Cabinetmaker
Pays de la Loire
Julien Lachaud describes himself as a creative cabinetmaker.
Graduated with a Master's Technician Certificate, he was able to acquire a solid base through his apprenticeship and his career in various high-end cabinetmaking companies. His work will then turn into something more artistic. Today, thanks or because…. from a serious road accident at the age of 24, he realized that you had to do what you love in life and live your passions.
At the age of 28 in 2008, he opened his workshop in southern Vendée.
Imaginative, creative and open to other disciplines, he likes to combine the know-how of other artisans or artists in his projects.
“I like this mixture which creates harmony and gives life to a room”.
In general, he designs his pieces on a freehand sheet, he knows that a project is good, when his drawing is executed in one go.
He is attracted by geometric shapes and innovative materials. He uses them in different ways in his creations, gives them dynamism, unexpected shapes, or works with elements that we are not used to seeing in cabinetmaking. Today he has found his style, he continues to develop it and creates ever more surprising and dynamic pieces.
“I conceive my pieces like paintings. They are there to sublimate a place and transmit the history that I have given them”.
Julien Lachaud works for big houses like Caron, Louis Vuitton, Levi's but also for architects, decorators, designers, and individuals. His creations are made in limited series or unique pieces. He also does custom work. His work is visible during the Paris Design Week, at events abroad, craft fairs in France and in various galleries.
