In 2018 Antoine Horlait and Alice Laurent created the Maison Saman workshop. Their signature? Woodworking learned from Japanese craftsmen. Inspired by the burned wood technique called “Yakisugi”, they shape and invent collector’s items. The Chevreuse table comes from their collections.
In 2022 they are also launching into publishing – manufacturing pieces from other designers who inspire them. The Shinshoku – Erosion collection is the perfect illustration of this. Designed by Bordeaux designer Ludovic Renson, it is an ode to nature, to the passing of time, to things that erode. Designed based on the know-how of Maison Saman, it also combines scrap materials – marble and brass.
